Biking on Aviles Street

After the downpour the sun came out and Aviles street in St. Augustine came alive with people and the vivid colors after a rain.

The Blue Door on Aviles Street

This was the view from my table at Madre's, a little cafe that serves amazing homemade fish tacos. Aviles Street is the oldest street in the oldest city (St. Augusting) in the United States. The cobble stone streets are indented from the many years of horse and buggy traffic. The colors are vibrant because there was a heavy downpour of rain, then the sun came out and the colors were just beautiful. It was a matter of being in the right place at the right time.

Early Morning at Clearwater Beach Bay, Florida

After returning from vacation I still had a free day before going back to work. So I took advantage of the free time, got out the door early and went to the beach before the crowds arrive. This particular beach allows you to drive right on the beach which was perfect. I didn't have to carry my art supplies very far. The early morning fishermen were still out on the water and the morning sun was really sparkling like diamonds. Really nice to see.

Lighthouse at St. Augustine Florida

St. Augustine is the oldest city in the United States and is just a treasure to have in this state. There are so many places to see; it would take days to see it all. I spent my time in the old section where there are many art galleries and it's great fun to meet the artists and learn where they paint. They told me of several parks around the area. The next day I found this view of the lighthouse at Anastasia State Park. It was a lovely park right on the ocean.

THE DEPOT AT TRENTON FLORIDA

This painting was done on vacation in June while traveling through Northern Florida. Trenton is a charming small town with several interesting historical buildings that would be fun to paint. The train depot caught my eye on that particular day.
