Glowing Sunset

One of my favorite painters of all time is George Inness. He was a tonalist landscape painter and had a masterful way of capturing luminous sunsets and atmospheric landscapes that draw you in and you stay awhile. Here I attempt one of those sunsets.

Majestic Palms

This was painted on Bayou Drive, one of the most beautiful places I've seen. It has salt marshes that provide an amazing amount of interesting designs. The wild life is beautiful but you have to have to be careful during alligator mating season. They can show up anywhere and you have to be prepared to leave on a moments notice. But the birds are beautiful!

A Shady Spot at Anclote River Park

This spot caught my attention with the wonderful play of light through the Fronds and the different textures of the tree and the plants. Light was hopping all over the place.

This painting was done at Howard Park in Tarpon Springs Florida. It was in the heat of the summer and the sea grapes provides a cool green for relief from the sun.

Anclote River Bank

This is a painting done at Anclote River Park, one of many favorite spots our Plein Air group of artists like to go to. There are many Florida Pines and Oaks there that takes one back to "the Old Florida".
